Today’s session concluded with a slight decline in benchmark domestic equity indices. The Nifty fell 35 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 24,197, while the Sensex fell 123 points, or 0.16 percent, to conclude at 77,989. On the National Stock Exchange, however, the Mid-cap 100 increased by more than 0.6% and the Small-cap 100 by 0.9%.

Shares of 16 out of 30 businesses in the Sensex pack recorded losses. HDFC Bank plummeted more than 1.7%, Titan lost over 1.5%, and Mahindra & Mahindra dropped 1% among the top underperformers. On the other hand, Adani Ports increased by 2.3%, Eternal increased by more than 2.5%, and Trent increased by 2.8%.
Fifteen of the twenty-five sectors in the BSE’s sectoral indices saw an increase. Metal saw a 1.5% increase, Utilities saw a nearly 1.4% increase, and Industrials saw a nearly 1.2% increase. Conversely, hospitals saw a 5% decline, private banks saw a 0.6% decline, and the Top 10 Banks saw a 0.7% decline.

The BSE’s overall market breadth was positive, with 2,808 companies’ shares rising, 1,539 falling, and 147 staying the same.
