As indicated by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, India wants to export $2 trillion worth of goods and services by 2030–2031. Mr. Goyal, who chaired a review meeting today in New Delhi on the Plan of Action for reaching the 2 trillion US dollar export objective by 2030–31, said that the target’s accomplishment will be predicated on three major pillars.

A Nodal Joint Secretary is allocated to each sectoral action, which is categorized as supply-side or demand-side, related to key performance measures, and in line with short-, medium-, and long-term timescales. The Minister also emphasized the necessity of an IT-enabled monitoring platform with an automated escalation mechanism for review at the Secretary and Minister levels in order to enable regular tracking of developments.

Additionally, he examined how the Export Promotion Mission (EPM), a premier MSME-focused program, was being implemented. Mr. Goyal emphasized that all EPM components should continue to place a high priority on agricultural exports and micro and small businesses. He also ordered that other field-level organizations involved in export promotion be included in Market Access Support, in addition to Export Promotion Councils.
