Hero Motors IPO Listing:

New Delhi, 23 September 2026: Hero Motors shares listed on the bourses with a muted debut on Wednesday, September 23 as the stock made its debut at a discount to its issue price. Shares traded at ₹82 on the NSE and ₹82.10 on the BSE, compared with the IPO issue price of ₹84 a share.

The listing price was at a discount of about 2.4% on the NSE and 2.3% on the BSE leaving no listing gain for the IPO investors.

Hero Motors is an automotive technology company specializing in powertrain solutions and automotive components. The ₹1,000 crore initial public offering (IPO) received a good response from investors with the issue getting subscribed 6.66 times in total during the three-day bidding period from September 16 to September 18.

Hero Motors IPO Subscription Status

The Hero Motors IPO was offered in the price band of Rs 79 to Rs 84 per share. Investors were required to bid for a minimum lot of 178 shares at the upper price band, that is a minimum investment of ₹14,952.

The IPO was oversubscribed across all categories of investors.

The issue had a strong subscription response but a weak stock debut below the issue price.

New Issue and Offer for Sale

The Hero Motors IPO consisted of a fresh issue of shares and an Offer for Sale (OFS).

The total issue size was ₹1,000 crore, out of which the fresh issue was around ₹600 crore and the balance ₹400 crore was offered through the OFS route.

The company will utilize the net proceeds from the fresh issue for its specified corporate purposes. The proceeds from the OFS will be received by the respective selling shareholders.

How Hero Motors Will Use IPO Proceeds?

Hero Motors, as per the company’s IPO documents, will use a major portion of the fresh issue proceeds for debt reduction and capacity expansion.

It is proposed to make the repayment/prepayment of certain outstanding borrowings from an amount of about ₹ 190 crore.

The company has also allocated about ₹200 crore for purchase of equipment for capacity expansion at its Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh facility.

The balance of the funds is proposed to be utilized for inorganic growth opportunities, acquisitions, strategic initiatives and for general corporate purposes.

Hero Motors is engaged in automotive technology and powertrain solutions segment. The company provides products and solutions to the automotive industry and has exposure to technologies covering internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid and electric vehicle applications.

The company is also working to expand capacity across its manufacturing operations as it seeks to grow its production capabilities and support future business growth.

Financial Performance of Hero Motors

Hero Motors reported higher revenue & profitability in FY2026.

The company’s revenue was ₹1,111.23 crore in FY2025. The revenue was around ₹1,216.74 crore in FY2026.

Its profit after tax (PAT) also rose to about ₹41.17 crore in FY2026, from ₹32.80 crore in FY2025.

The company’s profitability is modest relative to its revenue base, so future earnings growth and margins are important factors for investors to watch.

What to watch as an investor post listing?

Hero Motors’ market debut will be followed by investors tracking its earnings growth, debt position, capacity expansion and execution of strategic plans.

The ability of the company to increase production capacity, improve profitability and achieve sustainable expansion will be key factors for its performance as a listed company.

The stock’s listing below the issue price of ₹84 also means that IPO investors did not get an immediate listing gain.
