Apple iPhone 18 Pro Launch: Apple has announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India with major improvements to the camera system, performance, battery life and artificial intelligence capabilities.

iPhone 18 Pro Camera to Feature Variable Aperture

One of the biggest upgrades to the iPhone 18 Pro series is its camera system.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are powered by the new A20 Pro chip, which is based on a 2nm process.

The chipset features a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU and a new Neural Engine architecture which is designed to improve gaming, demanding applications and on-device AI processing.

The A20 Pro offers 50% more memory bandwidth than the previous-gen A19 Pro, and its GPU can offer up to 40% faster performance, Apple says.

Battery Life: iPhone 18 Pro Max Takes the Cake

Another huge area for improvement is battery life.

Apple claims the iPhone 18 Pro can last up to 36 hours of video playback, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max can last up to 45 hours.

Wired charging can get the iPhone 18 Pro to 50% in about 15 minutes, while wireless charging can get it to 50% in about 30 minutes.

Apple also claims that five minutes of wired charging will provide the iPhone 18 Pro Max with approximately seven hours of video playback.

Both new Pro models are powered by iOS 27 and the next generation of Apple Intelligence.

One big highlight is the new Siri AI that rolls out in beta. Siri can also use personal context, see what’s on screen, and execute tasks across supported apps.

Apple Intelligence also adds Spatial Reframing, Extend, improved Clean Up and photorealistic images with Image Playground.
