The DoT has asked telecom operators to implement the cap through the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP). Telecom companies have uploaded subscriber-related information on the platform including details of users who have already reached the maximum number of mobile connections allowed.
From 23 August, a representative image of subscribers who have reached the prescribed limit will also be available on the DIP. Telecom operators can merge this information with data from the platform to identify customers looking for additional connections.
