Following an increased sell-off in most sectors during the last hour of trading, benchmark domestic equities indices lost almost 1.5 percent today. The BSE Sensex closed at 74,776 after falling 1,92 points. The NSE Nifty closed at 23,548 after falling 359 points.
The decline in the frontline indices was reflected in the National Stock Exchange’s overall market. The Smallcap 100 index fell more than 0.8%, while the Midcap 100 index lost more than 1.3%.
