Following the reviewing the situation in border regions, China and India expressed satisfaction with the advancements made in preserving peace and tranquility. At the 35th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC), the two nations discussed the situation. The gathering took place in Beijing yesterday. Director General of the Boundary and Oceanic Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hou Yanqi led the Chinese mission, while Joint Secretary (East Asia) Sujit Ghosh led the Indian delegation.

The talks were positive and forward-looking, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. Delimitation, border administration, mechanism building, and cross-border collaboration were among the topics of discussion between the two parties. The Indian side emphasized an early meeting of the next Expert Level Mechanism on Trans-Border Rivers, according to the Ministry.

The 24th Special Representatives (SR) Talks’ conclusions included structures that both sides agreed to use to continue frequent diplomatic and military exchanges and interactions.

Additionally, they decided to collaborate in order to prepare significantly for the upcoming SR conference, which will take place in China. The head of the Indian delegation paid a courtesy call to Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei and met with Liu Jinsong, Director General of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Department of Asian Affairs.
