So far in April, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have sold Indian stocks for 43 thousand 967 crore rupees. FPIs continued to be net buyers of stocks over the first three trading sessions, but in the second part of the week, they changed their direction and became sellers, indicating a dramatic reversal from early buying.

The largest single-session sell-off of the week occurred on Friday, when Foreign Portfolio Investors reported a net equity outflow of almost 2,470 crore rupees. This followed a net equity outflow of over 1,250 crore rupees on Thursday, which turned the week’s overall tone negative.
FPIs have also extracted 7,972 crore rupees from the Indian debt markets, according to the depository data. During the period under review, the overall net outflow from the Indian capital market was 56 thousand and 940 crore rupees.
