Today, the government said that the nation’s supply of gas and oil is guaranteed. Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Sujata Sharma spoke at the interministerial briefing on the West Asia war in New Delhi. She stated that the government has taken adequate measures to guarantee the country’s regular supply of LPG, PNG, gasoline, and diesel. Over 45 lakh reservations were made yesterday, and almost 51 lakh residential LPG cylinders were delivered, she continued, adding that the supply of domestic LPG is regular. Additionally, she emphasized that yesterday saw the sale of more than 8,000 tonnes of commercial LPG.

DPIIT Nidhi Kesarwani, Joint Secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, also emphasized the steps the government has made in response to the West Asia problem. In order to guarantee a steady supply of fuel and gas, she continued, the Department has issued several initiatives and facilitative orders under the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization. According to her, the procedure of granting licenses to dispensing stations has been accelerated under the compressed, natural gas, and biogas programs. Ms. Nidhi added that 157 of the 467 applications for dispensing stations have resulted in final permits. Additionally, 41 biogas cylinder filling and storage facilities have received approval, she noted.
