The vice president stated that if the Iranians “don’t change their course of conduct,” there will be further strikes on Tehran, but he was “hopeful” that talks will prevent the use of “tools.”

US Vice President JD Vance cautioned Iran on Tuesday that Washington has not yet used “tools which are there in our toolkit” and that if the Islamic Republic rejects a proposal for a ceasefire and reopens the Strait of Hormuz, the Trump administration may opt to use them.

The White House, however, denounced the social media accusations that Vance was purportedly referring to “US using nuclear weapons in Iran.” “You complete idiots, nothing Vice President Vance said here “implies” this,” the White House wrote in a post on X.

The vice president stated that if the Iranians “don’t change their course of conduct,” there will be further strikes on Tehran, but he was “hopeful” that talks will prevent the use of “tools.”

Vance stated during his visit to Hungary that “the United States has largely accomplished its military objectives” and that there will be “a lot of negotiations between now and then” before Iran’s deadline to finalize a deal and accept the US proposal expires on Wednesday at 5:30 a.m.

At a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest, Vance stated, “The President of the United States can decide to use them, and he will decide to use them if the Iranians don’t change their course of conduct.”
